It is less important "what he is" than what he's doing. Even why he is doing it is not important at the moment. Whoever he is, it sounds like he is engaging in a psychic attack of some sort for who knows what reason. There are defensive techniques for this sort of mischief. Some simple, but effective, formulas for protecting yourself can be found in Dion Fortune's book Psychic Self-Defence. Sealing your aura is vital. I also recommend cleansing and sealing your dwelling since the attacks are happening in your home. I don't really recommend trying to track him down alone in any fashion. Oftentimes, we proper defensive measures, it is not necessary, and he will just go away once he gets the picture that he is not getting through.

What sort of business are you in? Does it involve dealing with the public much?

That does not seem like a nice guy but more of a creep and do not be taken in by whatever speech he throws at you - we were together in our past lives and other bullshit. If he is a vampire and he very well could be, he will keep you distracted while he feeds.

Do you know his name? He is probably someone you have encountered RL and on the Net where they take to in drove these days.
He could be ugly physically and a social misfit. Such people get to rely on feeding that way if he is a vampire or on the power trip (and energy) that it gives them and it does strange things to their bodies and minds. They look off and often are.

They cannot enter you without your consent and believe me, I have been there many many times with all sorts of things bouncing off me. And it is scary at first and they will put out great shows to influence you. They just can't do anything. The worst that I got was a tickle.

Another trick that can work is to freeze them. You put the name: unwanted nightly visitor in a jar, add water and blue dye and freeze it. There are bottles who are a little nastier such as razor blades, urine. There are plenty of recipes floating on the web. Have fun when you make it and think how it will feel dragging through that. I would leave a note in the jar: are you in yet? treating it lightly.

I was isolated most of the time by choice too. It does not always work. Especially if it out of fear, for example. if you have no one significant in your life, these things can try to sneak their way in
If you are using the net, and they can sneak in that way.

Something else, I have noticed that lower level entity go the usual route: doors, windows. They don't have much imagination.
